Workshop Four
Context & Integration
Grow in your sensitivity for different worldviews and cultural contexts, and integrate faith & work more effectively
The current rise of secularisation, materialism and consumerism challenges us as followers of Jesus Christ. How do we deal with ever changing worldviews? Everything seems relative and permissible today. Surely, we need to know where we stand! The ability to interpret different worldviews and current trends in our world enables us to be relevant in our service and gospel presentation and to engage on a meaningful level with others. Moreover, the increasing globalisation of our contemporary society requires an understanding of the diverse cultural contexts we encounter on a regular basis. At the end of the day, we seek to communicate our faith well and to integrate our faith in everyday life in a meaningful way.
Workshop Outline:
This workshop will be divided into two sessions.
The first session will give you the opportunity to broaden our horizon in terms of cross-cultural contexts. You will learn how to engage in your own context and calling with those from a different cultural background.
The second session focuses more specifically on how we can effectively (and creatively) integrate our faith and daily work.
Transformational Skills
- Develop confidence and competence as you navigate the kaleidoscope of changing worldviews and trends
- Identify the skills on how best to engage those from various cross-cultural contexts
- Explore how you can best achieve an effective and authentic faith-work integration in your own specific context?
